Growing up in southern Austria, far from the snowy peaks, Julia Scheib discovered her passion on a small local hill. From that very first turn, skiing became more than a sport — it became her purpose.
Now, years later, she races among the best in the world, driven by the same passion that started it all. Fearless and always chasing that feeling of near-perfection at the finish line, she has just claimed her first Giant Slalom World Cup win, triumphing in Sölden.
Watch the new episode of the “Carve Your Path” series and follow an athlete who never stops striving to be better, on and off the slopes.
"I’ve loved skiing for as long as I can remember. From my very first turn on a small local hill, I felt an immediate connection with the sport. Even though we didn’t have much snow where I grew up, being on the mountain has always brought me joy and a sense of purpose".

"I’ve never truly wanted to give up, even during the toughest moments. Skiing can be demanding and injuries are part of the journey, but each challenge is also an opportunity to grow. It’s a privilege to still be here, competing among the best, with more time to improve and pursue my dream".
"The most magical moment in ski racing is right after crossing the finish line, when you know instantly that everything clicked. Technique, focus, and feeling all align perfectly. Those moments are rare, but they remind me why I push myself so hard every day".
