How Pros choose their Helmets
KASK has served as the official helmet partner of INEOS Grenadiers since the team’s launch in 2010, playing a crucial role in their drive for innovation and sporting excellence, which has yielded 12 Grand Tour victories, three Monument successes, two Hour Records, and a host of UCI WorldTour stage wins to date.
The collaboration has been integral to the research and development of many flagship KASK helmet designs, which combine cutting-edge technology with world-class performance.
Every year, KASK provides the team with a wide range of top-of-the-line helmets, allowing the riders to choose the models best suited for every stage or race. This year, the squad will have five different models at their disposal, ensuring they have the perfect combination of comfort, aerodynamics, and protection for every condition they face during the race.
ELEMENTO
The Elemento, like every helmet on this list, was developed with direct input from the team. It features advanced materials like Fluid Carbon 12 for enhanced impact absorption and a Multipod structure for consistent safety and comfort. Achieving an optimal balance of aerodynamics and ventilation, it has been worn in major victories, including at the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia. The Elemento offers versatility across different terrains, making it a favored choice for its all-around performance.
ELEMENTONIRVANA
The Nirvana is the newest of KASK’s race helmets and was introduced in 2024. It features over-ear covers and a teardrop shape, drawing inspiration from time trial helmets to enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The Nirvana is another helmet that incorporates KASK’s own Multipod technology, a 3D-printed internal padding that enhances impact absorption and ventilation. Riders in sprint or nearly flat stages would opt for the Nirvana due to its aerodynamic benefits.
NIRVANAVALEGRO
Perfectly suited to climbers, the Valegro was developed to meet the demands of high-intensity mountain stages. Weighing a super-light 180 grams, the helmet features 36 air vents, providing exceptional ventilation and temperature management, both crucial features for helping to scale the world’s toughest climbs. The helmet's aerodynamic profile was refined through wind tunnel testing to balance ventilation with performance, making it the perfect choice for long ascents on very hot days.
VALEGROMISTRAL
The Mistral’s compact, short-tailed design allows for optimal aerodynamics across various head positions during time trials. The helmet features six front air intakes and four rear vents connected by internal channels, ensuring effective ventilation without compromising speed. The Mistral is also equipped with a magnetic visor, available in multiple shades, providing clear vision and easy adjustments in use. INEOS Grenadiers have continued to choose the Mistral for numerous time trial stages, contributing to significant victories in Grand Tours.
MistralBAMBINO PRO EVO
The Bambino Pro Evo was developed to meet the needs of the team’s riders specifically in time trials. This aerodynamic helmet has a smooth, compact shape that reduces drag. Six front and four rear vents keep airflow steady without impacting speed. An integrated magnetic visor allows for quick and secure attachment, with shade options to suit varying light conditions. The Bambino Pro Evo played a role in major time trial victories throughout the years.
