What do you think of your 22-23 season? Are you happy with it?

As every season, I try not to judge myself too much by results. When so much is out of my control, I instead try to focus more on my growth and process. This was another year of immense growth for me. I skied the best I’ve ever skied and enjoyed the journey. From the results side, I certainly took great reward from some of my highlights like the win and 4th place at the World Championships. But there is still more I want to accomplish and I look forward to the challenge this coming season.

What are your feelings, expectations, and goals for the coming season?

I am so excited for the coming season. I plan to add more events and disciplines to my calendar this year. though it will surely add stress, I’m excited about the challenge and can’t wait to see what I’m capable of.

How did the off-season and preparation for the new season go?

The Prep season has gone well! I am stronger than I’ve ever been and in a terrific headspace. though I’ve enjoyed the rest, I am very excited to rejoin the “White Circus”.

Best and worst moment of your career so far?

Same answer for both: 4th place at the Olympics GS in 2022. On one hand, it was a moment I’d worked a lifetime for, and a result better than I could’ve dreamed of. On the other, mistakes were made and I was impossibly close to the moment every young athlete dreams of. So it’s a bittersweet memory for me—both the greatest and the worst day of my life. But it also encapsulates everything I love about sports. I can’t wait for the next Olympics to have another chance on that stage.

What motivates you to work hard?

I’m driven in all things to find the best version of myself. As a ski racer, I want to maximize my potential. When I retire, I want to know that I did everything in my power to that end and have no regret about how I pursued my sport. Whether I win the Olympics or not, I will be able to sleep at night if I live by that pursuit. But winning the Olympics would be nice too.
