Winning a gold medal is a lifelong dream—the result of years of sacrifice. But what comes next? No one prepares you for the pressure of constantly proving you’re worthy of that gold.
Michela Moioli, Olympic snowboard cross champion at Pyeongchang 2018, knows this well.
She has won and lost, perhaps learning more from defeat than victory.
Watch the second episode of the “Carve Your Path” video series and discover her journey to a fourth Winter Olympics.

"Describing the feeling of winning a gold medal would take a whole book—it’s every athlete’s dream, and achieving it requires immense sacrifices. When it happens, it’s like being caught in a whirlwind, barely aware of what you’re doing".

"They train you, they prepare you to win, but they don’t tell you what comes next. You’ve already won, yet sometimes you still have to prove that you deserve that gold medal, and that weighed on me".

"In sports, you win and lose, and you learn more from losing. Now that I’ve experienced both, I’ve often thought – especially in difficult moments – of saying, “Ok, that’s it, I’m done”. But I have always listened to that little voice inside me that says, “No Michi, there’s still something more for you”. That motivation has changed over the years, but it’s still very strong - and it’s what keeps me going".
