How often should a helmet be replaced?

The helmet’s life depends on various factors that cause deterioration, including sudden temperature changes, the degree to which it is exposed to sunlight, and the intensity of use. Inspect the helmet regularly to check for any damage! Cracks, detached parts, warping, flaking, and color changes are significant indicators of the helmet’s state of deterioration. KASK recommends replacing your helmet after approximately three years of use. This period begins from the date of first use or purchase. The suggested three-year lifespan is based on typical usage patterns, which may include minor impacts, exposure to environmental conditions, and regular handling. Over time, these factors can potentially reduce the helmet’s ability to absorb impact energy effectively. It is essential to note that this three-year timeframe serves as a general guideline. Depending on the intensity of use, maintenance, storage conditions, and exposure to external elements such as extreme temperatures or UV rays, the actual lifespan may vary.
