Should the helmet be replaced after a crash?
In the event of an accident or significant impact, the helmet must be replaced immediately, regardless of its age or visible condition. Even if there are no obvious cracks in the outer shell, internal damage to the polystyrene structure may have occurred, compromising the helmet's protective performance. Helmets are designed to absorb energy from a single impact to reduce the risk of head injury. After doing so, they are no longer capable of providing the same level of protection.
Prioritizing safety means replacing your helmet whenever its protective integrity may be compromised.
